peterb of Tea Leaves reports about experiences requesting fair trade coffee at a Pittsburg Starbucks:

Just FYI: at the Starbucks in Pittsburgh on Murray Ave, Cafe Estima
was brewing all week. When I muttered "A medium fair-trade coffee,
please", they quickly gave me a cup of the right stuff.
so at least one store got it right.
